The Tuesday lunchtime ride is a one to one ride for Richard who is deaf and blind. The coach, Doug Smith, communicates with him by a special belt which generates tactile signals to tell him to start, stop and turn. Richard has even taken part in RDA dressage competitions, a fantastic experience for him.
On a Tuesday evening, the group offers a session for our more able riders, where they ride un-led and most years, hope to take part in the annual RDA West Mercia Regional Qualifier competition held at Stourport. Those who do well enough will qualify to compete at the RDA
The majority of the riding is at walk as this is the pace that gives greatest physical benefits, and the riders work to improve their riding skills.
